A conference on Latin American cultural policy, featuring scholars from the United
States and Latin America will be hosted February 20 by the University of California,
San Diego Center for Iberian and Latin American Studies to discuss new developments
in such fields as literature, television, film, and music and the way these have
deeply changed daily life in Latin America.
The Keynote speaker will be:
- George Yudice, Director, Center for Latin American and Carribbean Studies,
New York University.

The all-day conference program is presented by the UCSD Center for Iberian and
Latin American Studies. It is sponsored by a grant from the US Department of
Education and is open to the public without charge.
The event will be held in the Deutz Conference Room at the Institute of the
Americas on the UCSD campus, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Those interested may
