Latin American Studies Outreach Mission

The Center for Iberian and Latin American Studies (CILAS) at the University of California, San Diego is committed to expanding awareness and knowledge of Latin America. Outreach is focused on developing or enhancing a curriculum for K-12 students that will increase awareness and knowledge of world cultures, specifically Latin America.

Ancient Civilizations of Latin America: the Aztecs, the Mayas, and the Incas

If you teach about the Ancient Civilizations of Latin America: the Aztecs, the Mayas, and the Incas, your class will benefit from the hands-on materials you can borrow from CILAS. FREE for all K-12 teachers.

Borrow the "Traveling Culture Trunk" for your class. Display the artifacts for your students. Both fiction and nonfiction books and teacher resource materials are included.

To borrow this trunk you will need a Lending Agreement.
